Questions, or a request to see or delete what we hold about you: gkq.andrade@gmail.com

Your music stays on your phone

The backing tracks and videos you add to SaxBuddy are saved by your own phone or computer. They are never sent to us.

Your practice record — the minutes you play, the days you practise and how fast you have played each song — is kept on your phone too, separately for each account that signs in on it, and is never sent to us.

This is not a promise to be careful with your files. We do not have them at all. If someone asked us to hand over your music, we would have nothing to give them.

What we do hold

Your account. When you sign in with Facebook or Google, we receive your email address, the name on your account, and an ID from them that tells us it is you next time. That is all we get. We cannot post anything, and we do not see your friends, photos or messages.

Emails about SaxBuddy, only if you ask for them. We use your email address to sign you in. We may also offer you the choice to get occasional emails about SaxBuddy — new features and new songs. You will only get them if you switch them on, you can switch them off at any time, and every email will have a link to stop them. We never use your email address for advertising, and we never give it to anyone to advertise to you.

That you have access. When you redeem a code, we record that you now have access to SaxBuddy. Your phone also keeps a copy of that, so the app still works when you have no signal. It checks in with us whenever it opens with a signal, and must do so at least once a week. We record when it last did.

How the app is used. We count things like how often people open SaxBuddy, whether they come back, how long a practice session lasts, and how often people slow a track down or loop a section. We also count what kind of device and screen size SaxBuddy is used on, which app it was opened in (such as Messenger or TikTok), and which website sent you there, by its name only, and how often people tap through to SaxShop Manila. This tells us whether the app is any good. The shop's admins see these counts as totals, never one person's activity.

What you paid. When you buy a code, the person who sells it to you records the sale: the amount, how you paid (GCash, bank transfer, cash or another way), the date, which song you bought (recorded for sales from late September 2026), and a short note of who paid — usually the name you messaged them from. If you are given a code free, we record that it was a free copy, the date, which song, and who it was for, with no amount. Once you redeem the code, that sale is linked to your account. When you buy another song after that, no new code is needed: the sale is recorded against your account. If you delete your account, your name is removed from those sales and only the amount, how you paid, the date and the song are kept.

If you sell SaxBuddy for us. We also record your role and which sales you took.

What we never see

We know that you practised. We never know what you practised.

We do not receive, and have no way to receive:

Practice lengths reach us only as rough ranges — "somewhere between five and fifteen minutes" — never an exact figure, because an exact figure could be used to work out how long your music is.

Analytics tools normally record what people click on and the words on their screen. Yours would include the song names you typed, so we turned all of that off.

We check this automatically. Every time SaxBuddy's code is changed, a test runs a complete practice session and fails if a single piece of your audio is sent anywhere. We have deliberately broken that test to make sure it really notices.

Who else is involved

None of them receives your music, because your music is not sent anywhere.

Like any website, these services see ordinary technical details — the internet address you connect from, what browser you use, and when. That is a normal part of loading a page.

Where it is kept

Some of what we hold is stored outside the Philippines:

We tell you because your rights under Philippine law follow your data out of the country. If you ask us to show you what we hold or to delete it, we do that wherever it is kept, and the 30-day answer below applies the same way.

Your music is not in that list, and this is the reason it matters. Your backing tracks and videos never leave your own phone or computer, so there is no country to name for them.

How long we keep it

Your account and your access record are kept for as long as you have an account.

Sales records are kept for five years, because Philippine tax law requires businesses to keep their books that long, and then deleted. If you delete your account before then, we remove the note of who paid, so what is left — the amount, how it was paid, the date and the song — no longer identifies you.

The usage counts described above are kept for 24 months, then deleted.

Whether you want emails from us is kept for as long as you have an account, or until you change it.

If you ask us to delete your account, we delete everything else — see Deleting your data.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Under Philippine law — the Data Privacy Act of 2012 — these are your rights, and we honour them wherever you live.

Email gkq.andrade@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

To delete your account, see Deleting your data.

Children

SaxBuddy is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything about them.

If this changes

We will update the date at the top. If something important changes, we will tell you in the app rather than hoping you come back and re-read this page.
